Alfred St Cycleway Stage 1

Devcon was proud to be involved in delivering a state significant key connectivity link identified as a priority pedestrian and cyclist route which involved:

• Relocation of underground services
• Salvaging, Demolition and Excavation 
• Lighting and electrical reticulation works 
• Design & Construction of new bridge over Sydney Water assets
• Raised boardwalk constructed to avoid flood impacts
• Upgraded stormwater drainage
• Almost 2000m2 of new shared concrete path
• Facilitating working around bus stops
• Preparing the way for the bridge over Parramatta river
• Remediation of Asbestos contaminated material 
• Reignite the use of the John Irving Park Community Garden in Jordan St by creating a new safe, all ability access through the previously abandoned park. The park was closed to public due to asbestos contamination.
• Landscaping
• Line marking and signage
• Heavy equipment on site working in restricted space were 13t excavator, posi track, tippers, Asphalt paver, 100t crane for bridge install
• Careful environmental management whilst working adjacent to Duck Creek.
