Rookwood Expansion

Marking our third project at Rookwood Cemetery, Devcon has delivered another successful outcome.

Works were carefully managed to avoid any disruption to adjacent funeral services, operations and minimise noise impact from heavy machinery.

This project included 742 new burial plots, works included:
– 830m subsoil drainage
– 863m2 grave beams
– placement of over 200 cubic metres of concrete

Working on burial plots is an intricate task. It requires precise excavation and construction within sensitive grounds, careful navigation around existing monuments and services, and the installation of reinforced structures such as steel piles to ensure long-term durability – all carried out with respect.
